Inspired by the most famous dog in Edinburgh and Scotland, I created a series of drawings dedicated to Greyfriars Bobby (1855 – 1872).
This print is created based on my original drawing depicting the bronze sculpture of Bobby. The sculpture is located on the corner of Candlemakers Row and George IV Bridge in Edinburgh, near the Greyfriars Kirk where Bobby was buried in 1872.
Bobby is a famous Edinburgh skye terrier lived in the 19th century in Edinburgh and was known for being very faithful to his owner. So the real-size sculpture was commissioned by Angela Georgina Burdett-Coutts in 1873 near Greyfriarks Kirk to commemorate this remarkable dog.
