Inspired by wandering around Edinburgh’s streets full of architectural wonders and intricately carved stone details.
This fine art print is created based on my original drawing of this remarkable late Victorian development right next to Edinburgh Castle, Castlehill area, overlooking the city, complete with numerous ornamental turrets and intricate detailing like dragons supporting the balcony. This exact spot can be observed from the Princes Street and Princes Street Gardens, looking up from the promenade near the Scott Monument.
The development started as an octagonal house for Allan Ramsay the Elder and then further developed by Patrick Geddes as a high-end building and built between 1890 – 1893. Alternatively was known in the area as Ramsay Hut and Goosepie House.
Archival pigment inks offer fade-resistance for over 100 years. Please keep out of direct sunlight.
